How you brought Christ-centered compassion to a mom struggling with a decision, and a dad breaking from his past.
When Brynn* first heard the news at her ultrasound appointment, she was overwhelmed.
Twins!?
Already the devoted mother of a one-year-old, she had not planned to walk through pregnancy again – especially not on her own. Though her first child’s father remained supportive and present, the situation with her twins felt entirely different. The babies’ father, Jayden, was sending mixed signals – one moment asking for a DNA test, the next talking about taking the children to live with him.
For Brynn, the confusion was exhausting. For Jayden*, the fear ran even deeper. He had grown up without a father. His own childhood had been marked by instability, shaped by a mother struggling with addiction and the absence of a steady, loving male presence. No one had ever shown him what it looked like or meant to be a dad. And now, he was challenged to become one.
At Care Net, we often see how a father’s voice can shape a mother’s decision – towards fear . . . or hope. In Brynn’s case, Jayden’s uncertainty only added to her burden. But when she called Care Net’s Pregnancy Decision Line (PDL) and spoke to Tabitha, something began to change.
Tabitha reminded Brynn that she was not alone – and that the lives she carried were a blessing, even with so much uncertainty and stress swirling around her. She talked to her about the many programs and resources available to help her through her local pregnancy center, and she even offered to pray for her before they ended their first call.
Prayer and Hope Save Lives
After being lifted up in prayer, and having a chance to think about her conversation with Tabitha, Brynn’s heart began to steady. She made the courageous decision to continue her pregnancy.
And then, something unexpected happened. Jayden began to step forward. Instead of pulling away, he expressed a willingness to learn, to grow into the role he had never seen modeled. He agreed to attend parenting classes at the pregnancy center. He made plans to join Brynn at doctor’s appointments. With each small step, fear began to give way to responsibility . . . and even hope.
It’s a powerful reminder: fatherhood matters.
When a man chooses to be present – to support, to learn, to love – it changes everything. Not only for his children, but for the mother of those children as well. In many cases, it can make the difference between abortion and the decision for life.
Today, Brynn is in a better place, strengthened by the support of her family, including an aunt who once walked the same road with twins. And Jayden is beginning a new chapter, one marked not by the absence of a father, but by his decision to be an involved one..
Your support makes stories like this possible. Through prayer, guidance, and practical resources, you are helping men and women choose life – and helping fathers rise to the calling they were made for.
