What is the most rewarding part of your job?

I love that God is allowing me to use my past experiences in pregnancy centers to now serve Care Net affiliate leaders. We work in a difficult mission field, serving women, men and families facing challenging circumstances and pregnancy decisions every day. I truly believe that God has placed me in this role for a reason, to use my empathy for pregnancy center leaders to empower them to serve clients and grow with excellence.

What is your favorite Bible verse/book/chapter/section? Why?

Psalm 27 has meant a lot to me over the years – it was even read at my wedding. I’m very bad at waiting… but God has pushed me and grown me the most in seasons of waiting. This Psalm reminds me to be content dwelling in the Lord’s presence, and trust in the knowledge of His goodness. I could read this whole Psalm but particularly the last verse, over and over: “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage, wait for the Lord!”

Do you have any weird phobias?

I’m terrified of deep water and the open ocean. I blame the shark in The Little Mermaid (my favorite movie growing up).

Where are you from? Where did you grow up?

This is always a complicated question for me as I grew up a military kid – my dad was in the Air Force for over 30 years and we moved about every two to three years. Some of my favorite places we lived include Virginia, Colorado and Seoul, South Korea. Now, my husband and I call Colorado Springs, Colorado our home – with beautiful Pikes Peak out our front window and our fluffy dog Mando (named after the Mandalorian) in the yard.

What is your favorite book (other than the Bible!)?

East of Eden by John Steinbeck – I actually have a tattoo of “timshel” on my arm, to remind me of the lessons taught in this book, that I can intentionally choose the path I take in life, including the choice to follow God’s will for my life.
