When God has a plan, He sends a person. When God sends a person, He has a purpose! Christmas is a celebration of God’s plan for His son, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God had a plan to show His love and He sent a person, Jesus, for the purpose of saving the world.
This Christmas, I want to encourage you to approach new life as Mary approached Christmas. When she found out she was pregnant, she immediately knew that God had a plan and a purpose for the baby inside of her. She knew that God has a plan and a purpose for every person – including every unborn child. A child is neither tissue nor a product of pregnancy in her womb, he or she is a person for God’s purpose and plan. He or she is destined by our Father to show His Love to a hurting and lost world.
Just as God had a plan for Mary’s life, he has a plan for your client’s life. When God made a plan for the salvation of the world, Mary was the one person on earth He called to provide a way for His Holy purpose. The plan seemed impossible to Mary. She asked, “How can this be?” The pregnancy derailed her life plans, but it did not derail God’s plans for her life. Believing that all things are possible with God, she humbly responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May it be to me as you have said.” When she responded in that way, she accepted the plan and purpose God had for her. And she experienced the greatest miracle, the birth of the Son of God. Pregnancy may derail your client’s life plans, but it will not derail God’s plans for her life.
God not only has a plan and a purpose for your client and her preborn baby; God has a plan for YOU. God’s plan is to show His love to families and his purpose is to save unborn babies through you. I encourage you to approach your work as Mary approached Christmas. Sometimes, as a pro-life worker, you may look at your God-assignment and decide that it is impossible. But…
-
Like Mary, in your heart of hearts you know that “with God all things are possible.” And you respond, “I am the Lord’s servant. May it be to me as you have said.”
-
Like Mary, you are “highly favored and the Lord is with you”
-
Like Mary, the Prince of Peace, Emanuel, the King of Kings fills your heart, your life, your center, and your home with love and joy
-
Like Mary, you are a part of God’s plan to show His Love
-
Like Mary, you experience the miracle of new life with every child a client welcomes into the world
We pray you have, not only a Merry Christmas, but a “Mary Christmas,” remembering God’s possible in the impossible as you witness His miracles in the lives of your clients and their precious babies. May you have a wonder-filled Christmas as you serve others and the Lord Jesus Christ throughout the new year!
