Zacchaeus and Nicodemus could not have been more different.

Zacchaeus was a man short in stature and shorter in esteem. A wealthy tax collector, he was despised by his people (Luke 19). On the other hand, Nicodemus was one of the Pharisees, a Jewish leader, one of Christ’s own brethren (John 3).

Zacchaeus climbed in a tree to see Jesus, curious and unashamed in his sin. Nicodemus hid his uncertainty under the cover of night.

Jesus could have shunned Zacchaeus for his brazen attitude and lifestyle. He could have also turned his back on Nicodemus.

But Jesus did neither. He welcomed each one with open arms. I believe that is what we must do as well.

In the fight for life, we will come in contact with those who face unexpected pregnancies as a result of lifestyles we would never choose. Others in our own church families may face the same heartbreaking dilemma. I pray that God’s compassion reaches through us to both.

That is why your prayers and gifts are so critical. Women and men facing the most critical decision of their lives need your compassion. They need your encouragement. They need you to stand with them as they CHOOSE LIFE.

Please continue to give so that our Pregnancy Decision Line and affiliated pregnancy centers can be there for those facing unplanned pregnancies and considering abortion in their hour of greatest need.
