The recent turmoil in Washington, DC has left many of us feeling a sense of despair. Whether it’s the outcome of the election itself, the way in which the election was carried out, or the violence at the Capitol Building in January, it has been very hard to watch the deterioration of things we hold dear as Americans.

Setting aside the political chaos for a moment, it is also hard””as Pro Abundant Life people””to come to terms with the tangible threats that the Biden-Harris Administration presents to the life issue.

The Democratic party platform is unequivocally pro-choice. Moreover, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris themselves have personally pledged to protect the abortion industry, allow taxpayer funding to pay for abortions, and more. In short, they seek to overturn many “” if not all “” of the restrictions that have been put in place over the last several years to protect the unborn from abortion, and others designed to ensure that mothers have access to information about alternatives to abortion.

As if that is not enough, Kamala Harris has a history of attacking the life-affirming work of pregnancy centers, and she has undoubtedly taken that perspective with her to Washington. (For more on this topic, visit care-net.org/abundant-life-blog).

All of this will likely create a hostile environment for Care Net to operate in. The Biden-Harris Administration will try to make it harder for us to do what we do “” save the lives of the unborn and build strong families “” while emboldening Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and others to step up their misguided attacks on pregnancy centers.

While all of this makes Care Net’s work more urgent than ever, it doesn’t change our work. The work of providing Christ’s compassion, hope, and help to women and men considering abortion does not change based on who is in political power.

We are prepared, and we have you. And together, we can plead our case before the throne of heaven and pray for God’s will to be done.

Indeed, I ask you to pray for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris””that they, like Saul who became Paul, would have a Damascus Road experience to lead them out of the darkness of supporting abortion and into the marvelous, life-affirming light.

You see, there is political power. There is cultural power. And then there is Jesus’ power, and no one can take that away from us. We always have a reason for hope! Amen!

Vision Statement:

Care Net envisions a culture where women and men faced with pregnancy decisions are transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and are empowered to choose life for their unborn children and abundant life for their families.
