Do you have a passion for prayer and Care Net’s Pro Abundant Life Movement?
As a new year begins, your intercession and faithfulness can make an eternal difference through our free resource, Pursuing the Heart of God: A 7-Day Devotional Based on Care Net’s Making Life Disciples Course.
This one-week devotional, delivered in an e-booklet format, features testimonies from the organization’s Making Life Disciples course and a sampling of what is happening on a national level when it comes to Care Net’s role in helping churches offer compassion, hope, and help to women and men facing pregnancy decisions.
Each of the devotional’s daily segments includes two Bible verses and guided prayers that will empower readers to intercede for a decrease in abortions and stand in the gap for greater impact from churches when it comes to discipleship efforts towards those facing an unplanned pregnancy.
“Ministry to the abortion-vulnerable is challenging. It is private and hidden; further, it has been politicized and disconnected from the gospel, discipleship, and grace. If things are going to change, the church must lead,” said Greg Austen, the author of the devotional and of Irreplaceable: Recovering God’s Heart for Dads and How I Became a Christian Despite the Church. “May God give us all more confidence in his sovereign grace, and may these first authentic God-at-work accounts refresh your spirit and strengthen your faith.”
The Making Life Disciples (MLD) course, based on Care Net’s 45 years of experience, is a ministry platform designed to help churches conceive a holistic, gospel-centered approach to caring for people who are making difficult pregnancy decisions. MLD also enables churches to form meaningful partnerships with local pregnancy centers so they can create “kingdom connections” throughout their community, forming a network of support for people at risk for abortion.
Roland Warren, President and CEO of Care Net, said discipleship and church mobilization are key components in the organization’s Pro-Abundant Life movement. Care Net envisions a culture where women and men faced with pregnancy decisions are transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and empowered to choose life for their unborn children and abundant life for their families.
“We are all about saving the lives of the unborn, helping the mothers, reaching the fathers, and building strong families – but we also go beyond that because we want those people to become disciples of Jesus Christ as well,” said Roland Warren. “That is our calling – God’s design for family. The call to discipleship is a comprehensive way of thinking about the life issue.”
Care Net’s Pro Abundant Life movement is certainly gaining momentum. Since 2008, our network of 1,200 pregnancy centers has saved more than 1 million babies from abortion and shared the Gospel with over 2.2 million parents. But there is still much more work to done. More churches need to engage in Making Life Disciples. More precious babies need to be saved. Will you pray with us in 2024?
