You gave her the courage to consider adoption for her baby
Sometimes when a mom facing an unplanned pregnancy calls our national hotline, she isn’t just confused – she is determined to get an abortion as soon as possible.
That’s what Kendra* said the day she made the call that would change more than one life.
By the time she found our hotline number and called us, she had already tried to get an abortion. But (praise God) she had waited too long. Her baby was too far along for the abortion to be legal
in her state. But Kendra had so little family support that she remained determined to get an abortion, even if it meant traveling to a different state.

As Care Net’s hotline coach – Emily – listened to Kendra’s story, she realized how little Kendra knew about the real options in front of her. Slowly, with compassion and gentleness, Emily introduced the idea of adoption. If Kendra didn’t feel equipped to raise this child, would she consider blessing another family that wanted to grow?
Kendra paused. She hadn’t considered this. She didn’t know how complicated or expensive it might be. Emily explained the process to her, and then got her on the line with a local agency that specialized in adoption services. Emily made plans to follow up with Kendra in a few days, and promised to pray for her in the meantime.
When they talked again, Kendra shared that she wanted to go forward with the pregnancy and place her baby in a loving adoptive home! The baby’s father was resistant, so she asked for prayers that he would soon see Kendra’s point of view: she wasn’t giving their child away, she was planning a life where their baby could thrive.
