Carly_Fiorina_Special_Report_Bret_BaierLast night on Special Report with Bret Baier, he continued interviewing 2016 presidential candidates with an interview of Carly Fiorina.  Her statements about abortion and “women’s issues” were impressive.  As a successful business woman, she pushed back on the idea that the only issue women care about is birth control, saying that it trivializes women. Instead she insists that every issue is a women’s issue.

On abortion her statement is witty, confident, and full of care.

“I am pro-life, and the majority of Americans are coming around. I think science is proving us right every day.  A woman who faces a terrible choice deserves our empathy always and our support, not on our judgment, not our condemnation. When we can successfully perform surgery in utero at less than five months, sounds like a life to me.”

Carly Fiorina also made the news when she expressed her disappointment in House Republican leadership for pulling the bill banning abortions after 20 weeks.  It is exciting to see high profile women pushing back on efforts to force all women to be pro-choice or shame them for not being so. Hopefully more women will have the boldness to compassionately and courageously share their conviction that every unborn life is worth saving.
