Alisa Childers often exhorts the Church to engage culture boldly and theologically around the sanctity of life.

In a podcast, the apologist and author examined the Christian response to sex and abortion in the Roman Empire. Childers noted that how early believers faced similar challenges to those of the 21st Century Church in these arenas yet remained steadfast in their devotion to Christ and biblical standards.

Today, Christians must likewise go against the flow of pervasive cultural narratives regarding abortion, she said. Childers calls for a bold yet compassionate witness for life, highlighting the power of the gospel in transforming hearts.

“Be kind, be truthful. Be courageous,” she said. “Many saints have gone before you…Don’t stop shining the beautiful light of the gospel of Jesus Christ into a world that so desperately needs the beauty of His truth.”

Childers, a former member of the Christian band ZOEgirl and the author of Another Gospel: A Lifelong Christian Seeks Truth in Response to Progressive Christianity, will be one of four keynote speakers at Care Net’s Annual National Conference on August 26-29, at the Charlotte (N.C.) Convention Center.

This year’s theme is “The Year of Jubilee,” in observance and celebration of Care Net’s 50 years of ministry, hope, and transformation. The 2025 National Conference is inspired by Leviticus 25:10, “And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you…”

Joining Childers as keynote speakers are:

Roland Warren, an alumnus of Princeton University and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, is the President and CEO of Care Net and one of the foremost leaders in today’s pro-life movement. TIME Magazine called him the “reigning intellectual” of the movement. Dr. Mohler, who holds a B.A. from Samford University and both M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from Southern Seminary, is the host of The Briefing and Thinking in Public and editor of WORLD Opinions. His books include The Gathering Storm and The Conviction to Lead.

Care Net’s National Conference also features over 100 breakout sessions from a wide array of noted speakers and pro-life leaders. The annual event serves as a vital platform for educating pregnancy centers, providing them with the latest research, best practices, and innovative strategies to enhance their services.

Through its conference, Care Net seeks to empower its network of over 1,200 pregnancy centers and advocates for a culture that embraces the beauty of abundant life.

“These organizations are providing compassion, hope, and help to women and men in their communities who are considering abortion. They are saving the unborn, building strong families, and sharing the gospel,” said Roland Warren. “We are here to serve them.”
