Marisa Moya is not a stranger to the work of pregnancy center ministry. In fact, her journey started off as a client herself when she found out she was pregnant at the age of 16 years old. Later in life, she wanted to give back, so she began her work at Heartbeat Hope Medical Pregnancy Center in Fremont, OH, as a volunteer; however, God had bigger plans for her. Nearly 18 years later, she is now their Executive Director.

In her conversation with Roland during this episode of Care Net TV, they discussed a common narrative in our culture: that children born from unplanned pregnancies (especially to young parents) often have poorer outcomes. Both Marisa and Roland challenge that idea. Roland shared, “It is a lie that an unplanned child is a ‘net negative’ for your life.” Their own experiences, and their successful (now) adult children, stand as powerful testimonies against that narrative.

Listen below as Marisa shares her journey with Roland, along with the inspirational testimony of how their center provided such a safe place for a client that the client returned years later, knowing they could help her during her hard circumstances.
