Following the landmark Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, author and speaker Lisa Bevere encouraged Christians to steward the ensuing opportunities well.
“Let’s not just be pro-life,” she wrote on social media. “Let’s be pro love and choose to love and support those who now find themselves pregnant and afraid. Be willing and ready to open up your hearts and homes. I’m praying for a spirit of adoption to awaken in our nation.”
Bevere’s poignant words and prayer reflect the heart of Care Net’s Pro Abundant Life vision, which is rooted in Jesus’ promise in John 10:10, “I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Care Net’s goal is not only to save babies from abortion but also to help parents and children experience the abundant life found in Christ through a gospel-centered ministry that strengthens families, promotes marriage and fatherhood, and connects people to local churches for ongoing care and discipleship.
On August 18-21, Lisa Bevere, Care Net President and CEO Roland Warren, and Chick-fil-A Ambassador Trudy Cathy White will be the keynote speakers at Care Net’s National Conference at the Hilton Americas in Houston, Texas. This year’s theme is “Seek First His Kingdom,” based on Matthew 6:33.
As one of the featured speakers, Lisa Bevere brings more than 30 years of ministry experience helping women discover their God-given identity and purpose. A New York Times bestselling author and internationally recognized speaker, Bevere has written numerous books, including Without Rival, Girls with Swords, Lioness Arising, Strong and her recent devotional, Fiercely Loved. She and her husband, author and speaker John Bevere, co-founded Messenger International, a ministry dedicated to developing uncompromising followers of Christ that has distributed nearly 50 million resources in 116 languages worldwide.
Roland Warren, an alumnus of Princeton University and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, is the President and CEO of Care Net and one of the foremost leaders in today’s pro-life movement. After 20 years in the corporate world (IBM, Pepsi, and Goldman Sachs), Roland spent 11 years as president of National Fatherhood Initiative before joining Care Net in 2012 as president and CEO. He is the author of three books: The Alternative to Abortion: Why We Must Be Pro-Abundant Life; Raising Sons of Promise: A Guide for Single Mothers of Boys; and Bad Dads of the Bible: 8 Mistakes Every Good Dad Can Avoid.
Trudy Cathy White brings decades of leadership, ministry and family-focused experience. The daughter of Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy, she became one of the youngest franchise operators in company history at age 19. Trudy and her husband, John, spent 20 years serving in international missions before co-founding Lifeshape and Impact 360 Institute, ministries dedicated to discipleship, leadership development and equipping the next generation. Today, White serves as a Chick-fil-A Ambassador. In her latest book, A Legacy that Lasts, White encourages readers to intentionally live out the values, faith and relationships they hope to pass on to future generations.
Care Net’s National Conference also features over 100 breakout sessions from a wide array of noted speakers and pro-life leaders. The annual event serves as a vital platform for educating pregnancy centers and Pro Abundant Life advocates, providing them with the latest research, best practices, and innovative strategies to enhance their services.
Worship will be led by Bethany Barr Phillips, a gifted worship leader and speaker with nearly 20 years of experience serving the church. A cancer survivor and author of the devotionals Facing Your Fears and Anchor, Bethany is passionate about helping people grow in their faith and understand God’s unchanging goodness through every season of life.
The annual National Conference is one of the many ways Care Net supports its network of more than 1,200 affiliated pregnancy centers, providing training, encouragement and fellowship for center leaders, staff, board members and volunteers as they serve women, men and families in their communities.
In his book, The Alternative to Abortion, Roland Warren writes, “It is a blessing to support these truly amazing women and men who have dedicated their lives to offer compassion, hope, and help to women and men faced with pregnancy decisions; to help them choose life for their unborn babies and abundant life for their families.”
