It’s one thing to be pro-life. It’s another to be Pro Abundant Life. For 50 years, Care Net has worked to protect the unborn—but that’s just the beginning. Our vision is bigger because the need is deeper. Women facing pregnancy decisions need someone to walk with them. They need hope, healing, and support that doesn’t end after birth.

More Than a Moment: Meeting the Real Needs Behind the Decision

The ultrasound shows a beating heart, and yet many women still choose abortion. Why? The answer isn’t disbelief in life. It’s fear of the future. Through years of ministry, we’ve seen that abortion decisions often hinge on one thing: support. When a woman doesn’t believe she’ll be supported after the baby is born, abortion feels like her only option.

One of Care Net’s biggest insights came from mapping the “missing support” between birth and beyond—physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual. That missing support is where many abortion decisions are made. We exist to fill that gap, and we do it by offering more than a moment of care—we offer consistent, Christ-centered community.

Why “Abundant” Matters

In John 10:10, Jesus said He came to bring life, and life abundantly. The Greek word here is zoe, meaning eternal, spiritual life—not just physical survival. That’s why Care Net offers more than parenting classes and baby clothes. We offer the gospel. We walk with women and men long after the ultrasound to help them thrive as parents and as followers of Christ.

This discipleship-first approach shapes everything we do—from fatherhood programs to church partnerships—because true life transformation takes time, truth, and the presence of Jesus.

A Circle of Care: Saving Babies, Strengthening Families

No pregnancy center can meet every need alone. That’s why Care Net equips churches and communities to form a circle of care. When we link arms—center, church, and community—we save more babies and build stronger families.

As AmyJo Pleune, Director of Life Discipleship at Positive Options, puts it:

“I think what the Pro Abundant Life movement needs more of is this spirit of collaboration between life-affirming agencies and organizations. This holistic approach of church engagement, community, and center—partnered together in the circle of care has really allowed us to save more babies and to strengthen more families.”

At Care Net, we celebrate 50 years not just of saving lives—but of offering the kind of life only Christ can give. The next 50? We believe they’ll be even more abundant.
