What is your favorite Bible verse/book/chapter/section? Why?
My favorite book in the Bible is Ephesians. The BIG picture of God’s love and encouragement is mixed with practical applications for each one of us to walk, moment by moment, with the partnership of the Godhead.
Where are you from? Where did you grow up?
I was born outside of Detroit, Michigan and grew up on the east coast, from Homestead, Florida to Newfoundland, Canada. My dad worked for the Air National Guard and I had lived in seven distinct neighborhoods before I was ten years old.
What are your hobbies?
Two of my favorite hobbies are singing and vegetable gardening. I consider both to be acts of worship. When the seed catalogs arrive in December, I look forward to each stage of development long before each seed sprouts. There are so many lessons learned, working the soil, as God provides food for our family.
Who is your favorite fictional character and why?
My current favorite fictional character is Mrs. Carrie Watts from the Horton Foote play, “The Trip to Bountiful”. She is just an ordinary woman who has lived a very difficult life, yet in one day demonstrates her love of Jesus in using scripture to encourage a stranger, sings hymns to help her persevere, and after several failures, shows tenacity in completing a heartfelt goal.
