Each person is created in the image of God at the moment of conception. That is the conviction of Dr. William Lile, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who has a passion to educate the public on this truth.
“All patients have rights,” Dr. Lile said on his website, ProLifeDoc.org. “Pre-born babies are patients, too. They deserve proper care and legal protection, just like the rest of us. It is crucial that we work to advocate for their right to life and dignity, as they are the most vulnerable patients of all.”
Pro-Life Doc Scheduled to Speak at Care Net National Conference
Dr. Lile will be a keynote speaker at the 2023 Care Net National Conference, held August 29 through Sept. 1 in Mobile, Alabama. The conference also features keynote speaker Roland Warren, CEO and President of Care Net, musical guest Natalie Grant, and over one hundred breakout session speakers.
Dr. Lile, licensed to practice medicine in both Florida and Alabama, has served as an instructor with the University of Florida and Florida State Medical School OB/GYN residency programs. In 1999, he took over a practice that was the largest provider of abortion services in Pensacola, Florida. All abortion services and referrals at that location were immediately ceased. Today, Dr. Lile’s practice “uses that clinic’s abortion equipment to demonstrate the brutality of abortions performed in all three trimesters, while the tools of modern obstetrics have become instruments for his pro-life ministry,” according to ProLifeDoc.org.
Jill Marquis, Care Net’s Director of Abortion Recovery and Care, is looking forward to hearing the renowned doctor speak at the Care Net National Conference.
“Dr. Lile seamlessly demonstrates that there is no conflict between the divine and the design,” she said. “Science continually confirms what we already know: we are created in the image of God and are of inestimable worth, regardless of the circumstances of our conception!”
On his website, Dr. Lile presents various resources that defend life in the womb and evidence he uses when he provides expert medical testimony to legislative bodies to protect babies “who are unable to defend themselves.”
One example is a medical breakthrough that allows surgeons to operate on babies inside the womb.
“The umbilical cord of a baby can be transfused with donated blood as early as 18 weeks gestation to treat severe anemia in babies,” Dr. Lile states. “This means pre-born babies are patients entitled to legal protection.”
In a blog post entitled “A Woman’s Life Is Precious, A Baby’s Life Is Priceless,” Dr. Lile writes that being pro-life is not just about saving babies’ lives, “it’s about affirming life itself as good, as something to be celebrated and valued.”
“Our existence does have purpose and meaning beyond self-serving and temporary convenience and pleasure. It is about choosing hope over fear, optimism over despair, strength over cowardice, and love of others over serving oneself”¦”
In that article, he laments how so many women buy into the rhetoric of the pro-choice movement and may never experience the joy and gratification of nurturing a new life and bringing it into the world.
“As an obstetrician, I have helped over 4,000 women give birth, and I am never less than amazed at the miracle of new life. It is always a pleasure to see the joyful light in a mother’s eyes when she sees her newborn baby, and I consider it a unique privilege and blessing in my life that I have the opportunity to share in this moment.”
Dr. Lile believes that the life and personhood of the preborn can only be understood through love and empowered education.
“We know that the ultimate answer to ending the devastating practice of abortion is the Gospel,” he said. “It is the Gospel that changes hearts. It is the Gospel that changes minds. It is the Gospel that changes behavior and provides true healing and forgiveness.”
