What happens when compassion doesn’t stop at the door? For 50 years, Care Net has walked alongside pregnancy centers across the nation, offering not just a lifeline in crisis but a pathway to hope, healing, and abundant life. This milestone isn’t just about years passed—it’s about lives changed.
In a culture where “just saving the baby” can feel like the finish line, Care Net has spent five decades proving that true victory is deeper. Every child saved is a miracle worth celebrating, but the story doesn’t stop there. Mothers and fathers need more than a one-time intervention; they need discipleship, support, and transformation that outlasts the moment of decision. That’s the work pregnancy centers have faithfully carried out, often unseen but always impactful.
As you read on, you’ll discover how Care Net’s 50 years of service have strengthened centers and changed communities. You’ll also be invited to listen to voices from the field—directors, volunteers, and leaders who remind us why this work matters. And you’ll find encouragement to join in, whether through prayer, volunteering, or championing your local center. Watch the anniversary clip, explore the full trailer, and celebrate with us what God has done.
The Power of Serving Alongside Centers
Pregnancy centers are where compassion meets action. They do more than save lives in the moment—they walk with families for the long haul. The past five decades have been marked by baby supplies distributed, education classes offered, scholarships provided, and lives transformed.
As Dawn Darby, Vice President of Care Net of Puget Sound, reminds us:
“Being in a state like Connecticut, we hear the argument all the time, ‘We just want to save the baby,’ and to be able to be part of a network where I know across the country that we’re doing more than just saving the babies—and walking out what it means to be Pro Abundant Life. Look at all the millions of dollars of baby supplies. Look at all the education classes. Look at all the scholarship opportunities that have come about in the last 50 years. We know the truth and the truth is 1, sometimes 2, sometimes 3 lives at a time. We are making a difference. How many women left having heard the truth and felt that you cared? That is success.”

Truth with Grace: What Centers Do Best
Pregnancy centers are uniquely equipped to meet practical needs while pointing families toward Christ. Unlike transactional systems that treat people as clients, centers model transformation. They don’t want “repeat customers” like a retail store. Instead, they long for women and men to walk away changed—equipped not only to choose life but to live it abundantly.
That’s why Roxanne Ertel, President and CEO of Forget Me Not Ultrasound, says:
“We’re image bearers, we’re showing mom that first baby picture and that’s what it’s all about.”
Every ultrasound, every class, every conversation is more than service—it’s discipleship in action. It’s grace and truth, working together.
A Call to Endurance
Scripture reminds us:
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (Galatians 6:9–10, ESV)
This is the heartbeat of pregnancy centers. Their staff and volunteers show up day after day, often in difficult circumstances, to love, to serve, and to keep pointing toward life. As we celebrate 50 years, let’s commit to praying for their endurance, wisdom, and joy in the work.
