In a heartwarming Instagram post, former Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Tebow made an “over-the-moon” announcement, sharing that she and her husband Tim, a former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback, are expecting their first baby.

The post, which quickly went viral with over one million views, featured the couple embracing in a kiss as a sonogram image of the child was revealed.

“We are so excited to share the news about our answer to prayer. God is so good! Thank you, Jesus, for this incredible blessing and privilege of becoming a mom and dad. Thank you for entrusting us to raise one of Your precious children,” said Demi-Leigh Tebow, a South African model and the author of A Crown that Lasts: You Are Not Your Label.

The announcement of Baby Tebow is another example of the high-profile couple’s commitment to use their platform to advocate for the sanctity of life on so many levels.

At the 2021 March for Life, Tim Tebow, a college football announcer for ESPN, was a keynote speaker. He thanked his mom for her willingness to choose life during a troubled pregnancy, despite a doctor’s advice to abort.

“I’m so grateful that my mom gave me a chance at life,” he said. “She could have made the choice to do something different. But because of her pro-life story, I now get to share my story… Every single life matters to God.”

A 2010 Super Bowl commercial featuring Pam and Tim Tebow invited viewers to go the Focus on the Family website to hear the whole story about mom’s “miracle” pregnancy. According to a Barna survey, that commercial resulted in 5.5 million people “having cause to rethink their stand on abortion.”

At a 2020 Kansans For Life event, Tim Tebow said that he would rather be known for saving babies than for winning Super Bowls. While he never did play in the NFL’s championship game, he did lead the Denver Broncos to a thrilling overtime victory in the 2011 playoffs.

Today, the Tim Tebow Foundation seeks “To bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need.” The foundation is active in four main areas: orphan care, medical provision, special needs ministry, and anti-human trafficking.

Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine, launched in 2015, has grown into a worldwide movement. Every February, thousands of churches host a prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older.

As Night to Shine hosts give teens and adults the royal treatment, the event seeks to “tell every single one of them that their life has purpose and they are loved by us and the God of this universe,” Tim Tebow said.

“God gave his very best for each of us—he gave us his Son—and because he was willing to do that, we are willing to do whatever it takes to make these honored guests feel special and feel loved.”

Married for five years, the Tebows recently shared about their faith in Christ and the joy of becoming first-time parents in an interview with People Magazine. Tim Tebow said the couple was “honored for the privilege of getting the responsibility and the joy of being mom and dad.”

In the article, the Tebows noted qualities that make their spouse special and expressed confidence that each will make a great parent. Tim called Demi extremely loyal and loving, while she called him “extremely gracious…”

“Our Savior gave us the ultimate amount of grace, and I see Tim live that out as a walking example every single day…”

Whether it’s testifying before congress to fight human trafficking, standing for life, or expressing the sheer joy of marriage and parenthood, the Tebows are putting their faith into action and “shining like stars in a dark world.” (Philippians 2:15)

In response to the couple’s baby announcement on Instagram, pro-life activist Anna Lulis lauded the couple.

“Get married. Have kids. Follow Christ,” she wrote. “This is what will change culture.”
